In the picture above, I wanted to share our laundry room. This room is often a disaster, filled with bookbags, dirty shoes, coats and hats. However, the space always feels especially welcoming. As the entry point of our house, it is a high-impact room! This space opens to several rooms in our home. The pattern defines the space and at the same time is lively and fun; a statement piece that speaks to the décor in the rest of our home!
My first wallpaper hanging was 9 years ago and I kept adding to spaces within my own home. I picked up jobs over the years but this past year I realized the demand of wallpaper hanging and the lost art of the skill in our area . I was inspired to start my own business of wallpaper hanging and room reveals with the desire to be with my family more and to honor my mother Linda and mother-in-law Diane (nicknamed DeeDee when she became a grandma). I remember as a little girl, at a similar age to my children now, going to work with my mother. She started her own travel agency business at my exact age and stage in life. I'm sure she was feeling all the emotions I am feeling right now but all I remember as a little girl is how awesome it was to go to work with her and look through all the travel books! I want that for my kids through this journey too! I want them to recognize my hard work but also join me when they can. We named our youngest Annie Lind after my mother. The first time I hung wallpaper, I called DeeDee for guidance. She showed me all her wallpapering skills as we giggled most of the job. I quickly got addicted to the excitement and impact of wallpaper! Lind Dee is in honor of Linda and Diane and a daily reminder to me of these two powerful, faithful women. I will always be inspired by their work ethic, love for helping others, and always putting family first. The logo is also made up of Linda and Diane's handwriting; Linda writing to Annie Lind and Diane signing a book as Grandma Dee Dee.
My mission is to inspire people to create unique, meaningful spaces in which to live and work. I have always loved making spaces uniquely yours. I immediately think to my early ages and how I constantly rearranged my room in the middle of the night to transform my space. One of my favorite things in my office right now is a mason jar filled of old nails. They were the old nails from the walls of the first house my husband, Jordan, and I fixed up with the help of my dad. We were so proud of all the hard work we put into the old farm house to make it so charming. I also have an old gold jar with monopoly cards. It is displayed because we spend hours playing this game with our children Sophie, Mack and Annie, and it's a good reminder that we need to take time out of our busy weeks to just lay on the carpet in the living room and play good old fashioned board games with our children. Your dream home needs to be filled with things that carry your stories. I hope however you decorate your home, you grow a deep affection for your house.
It is so incredible to see how people use pattern and different aesthetics to bring them joy. Wallpaper has added so much dimension to every space I have ever hung, adding a reflection of interests. A favorite job recently was hanging a beautiful hummingbird print! Finding the perfect print for this couple was so fun! The first steps through the doorway set the tone when I could feel their passion for rich color and art. Patterning just one small wall of hummingbirds was the perfect pop of personality and the bold pattern spoke to their story and love of nature. The perfect space isn't about the architecture, but the feeling the space evokes. Wallpaper can bring that detail to feel personal and perfectly suited to you!
I also have absolutely fallen in love with room reveals. With my long history in healthcare and roots in ultrasound, I have always loved gender reveals and being a part of that magic! Coming full circle, I again get to be part of that magic to bring all the special details as I work with the couple to pick out a gender specific print that will make their nursery so unique and make the space feel so important! But don't let room reveals stop at gender reveals, we can surprise anyone! I am currently working on a teenager's room, a reveal that will knock her little athletic socks off! Rare is a room that can't benefit from some wallpaper!
I am honored to help bring color, pattern and life to your space through beautiful wallpaper! So many memories are created within your house walls, make them happy!
